About Us



HELLO! We are the Swenson's! I am Natalie, my husband is David and our little one is Evelyn with another one on the way! We live in Utah on the foothills of the mountains seeking adventure and raising our tiny human. We are embracing each new chapter life brings, this blog is a series about us! 

Here are some random facts about us!

When were you two married?
We were married September 1, 2012 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple

How did you meet?
We met at an open mic music party. We both performed that night

Do you have kids?
Yes! We have a little girl named Evelyn and baby Swenson number 2 is set to make their big debut August 2017!!!

Where do you live?
We live in our first home in Pleasant Grove, Utah

Are you Mormon?
Yes! We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You can learn more HERE

What do you do for a living?
David works for a company called Brio as the Jr Vice President of Sales and I am a rep for ZYIA ACTIVE selling the cutest activewear!  Shop, host and join with me at www.myzyia.com/zyiamama and I will help you with your attire as you embark on your fitness journey! What are your hobbies?
We LOVE the outdoors. Hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, camping etc. UTAH IS RAD

Where are some of your favorite places to hike?
We love the outdoors! When we got married, I feel like David really introduced them to me and I grew a love for them. We hike all over. Some of my favorite places are Battle Creek Falls, Scout Falls, Stewart Falls, Mt Timpanogos, Bells Canyon Waterfall, Diamond Fork Springs.... Ok the list could go on and on! haha I suggest downloading the app called "All Trails" it tells you all the hikes in your area!

How old are you? And how tall are you?
David is 27 and 5'8"
I am 25 and 5'3.5"
Evelyn is a year old!

Where are you from?
We both grew up in Cedar Hills, Utah

Interesting facts about David?
-served an LDS mission in Tokyo, Japan
-writes poetry
-loves snowboarding and was sponsored by Demon
-finished his first triathlon when he was 17 yrs. old
-plays guitar and ukulele

Interesting facts about Natalie?
-cosmetologist, esthetician and make up artist
-recorded and released an album at 19 yrs old
-auditioned for american idol
-was on the varsity ballroom team in high school
-grew up being in pageants but was always a tomboy at heart

---Fitness---

When did you start your fitness journey?
I began my fitness journey in October 2015 after I had my little girl Evelyn. Being a first time mom, all I wanted was to get my pre pregnancy body back. I started BBG and continued that for a year! Before I had Evelyn I had NEVER exercised so consistently in my life. There have been many ups and downs, but learning to live an active, fit and healthy lifestyle is one of the best things I could have ever done for myself!

What is BBG?
BBG is Kayla Itsines work out program. It stands for "Bikini Body Guide" which is an app now known as "Sweat with Kayla." Basically she has 12 week work out guides to follow and has created the most amazing online community of women empowering and lifting each other up!

What's your diet like?
I think learning how to eat right has been the biggest journey for me. Learning that food is fuel and not something you have to punish yourself with exercise after. You exercise and live actively so you CAN enjoy the yummy treats! I have not followed Kayla Itsines meal guide. The thing that has helped me the most and helped totally change the way I think about food is THE WHOLE 30. It's basically a 30 day challenge. I highly recommend reading (or listening to on audible) "It Starts with Food" by Melissa and Dallas Hartwig. It explains The Whole 30 and so much more! Then you can get The Whole 30 book wish has tons of recipes! What I try and do is through out the week, eat mostly Whole 30 approved meals and then the weekend go on a date with David and have an entire cheat meal! Balance is key and it's ok to treat yo self!

What are your favorite protein and protein bars?
My favorite is the Isagenix IsaLean Shakes. Seriously soooo good! My favorite flavor is vanilla. But the Strawberry and Chocolate are amazing too. It has 24grams of protein, gluten free and soy free, it has so many nutrients that it's a full meal! My daughter actually loves the protein too. I know that when I give it to her, no matter what she eats or doesn't eat in a day being a picky toddler, that she is getting the nutrients she needs!
The protein bars by Isagenix are also my favorite! I've tried so many from costco or different brands and seriously the isagenix ones are the best tasting to me. They are called the IsaLean Bars and they have several flavors. My favorite flavors are the Chocolate Peanut Crunch and Chocolate Cream Crisp.

What is your fitness schedule?
Since starting my fitness journey, I've learned how to have a schedule with fitness because before I had no idea where to even begin! My week schedule looks like this with stretching with each workout:
Monday: Resistance Training (usually lower body)
Tuesday: Cardio
Wednesday: Resistance Training (usually upper body)
Thursday: Cardio
Friday: Resistance Training (usually core day or full body)
Saturday: Cardio
Sunday: Rest
