Something we all forget sometimes

"Being a mother means learning about the strengths you didn't know you had... and dealing with fears you didn't know existed."

Being a mom is the BEST and the scariest roller coaster of my life! I just want to say thank you to all moms out there. Thank you for all you do. It's so nice to know we are not alone and all on this journey of motherhood together raising our special babies the best we can.

I'm a toddler mom now and expecting baby numero dos. Having a toddler is so fun but definitely comes with its scares! Because they are such busy bodies and want to explore the world, it's inevitable that they will get hurt. A little while ago we went to the dinosaur museum and Evelyn tumbled down cement stairs. Even with how fast I tried to catch her, she still fell about 5 steps and got a bloody nose.
My heart broke.
A time before that we were playing at the park and she tripped and bit through her lip. She's fallen off the couch, cut her finger, bonked her head countless of time.
A thousand heart breaks.
However, with out those experiences she wouldn't learn and grow and get to explore the world.

Being a mom and watching Evelyn grow made me think what it must be like from God's perspective about us. We are God's children and how sad and heart broken he must feel when we are hurting, or when we make decisions that take us further away from him....And then the JOY he must feel when we are happy and when we draw close to him.
The trials in our life help us to grow, and like how I am always there for my little Evelyn holding her close when she is sad or hurting, I know that our Heavenly Father is with us every step of the way in our lives too.

The bond between a parent and child is the closest bond there is. Even if it causes some broken hearts sometimes, it also mends all hearts and brings a joy beyond measure.
