Home Sweet Home

On October 20, 2014 we signed the papers and bought the cutest little cottage that we get to call HOME now! It's the craziest feeling to have our very own place. We make the rules now! ha! It's all pretty crazy how it came to be. David and I have been talking about buying for a while. All year I have been searching and searching and some more searching. We were checking our finances over and over. It was so exhausting because it was the whole game of yes-no-yes-no-yes-no, and I would always try and not get my hopes up, but let's face it I am a high hopes gal. It was a roller coaster to say the least. But it all worked out for the best because an AMAZING blessing and opportunity arose. About 10 years ago, my grandparents had money from a bunch of land that they sold and they used that money for tax and investment purposes and helped grandkids out with starter homes where they would basically be the "bank" for the grandkids at the time. Make payments to them and charge an amount of interest but the grandkids didn't have to worry about a down payment or mortgage insurance like you would through a regular bank. Well 10 years later, most of those grandkids had sold their homes and moved on to bigger homes therefore my grandparents had money to invest again for the next set of grandkids! Us! When I found out I was in shock. There was no way we could turn this opportunity down. So we found a realtor which is actually one of my eyelash extension clients husband. His name is Joel Travis and he did and AMAZING job helping us find the perfect starter home for us. Our budget was one that would allow us to move into a condo or older town home. David & I were very tired of sharing walls with neighbors and having no yard for our dog. We dreamed of having our own little cottage but it was very hard to find a house in our budget. All the homes we looked at in our price range were major fixer-upper houses and needed a ton of renovation. David's dad is a contractor so we were really considering it on a house in American Fork. I just dreaded all the extra cost it would take to renovate on top of the loan and time. When all the sudden our house came out of no where. When we went to go see it, it was love at first sight. The whole house had already been renovated!!!! Everything inside of the house is new. New kitchen, new bathroom, new electric, new plumbing, new windows, new paint, new new new. The wonderful people selling the home flipped it----and it was in our price range. We immediately put our offer in on September 30th and found out that same day someone else had put in an offer too! I was freaking out because I knew this house was our home and I didn't want it to slip through our fingers. Luckily things went through with our offer and twenty days later we closed and moved into our HOUSE!  It was such a long process all year and then all the sudden it went sooooo fast! I can't believe I am writing this post inside our HOME! It's the craziest feeling having our very own place. It's the perfect combination of vintage with modern. We love it so much and can't wait until we get all moved in and settled. We are so grateful to our Heavenly Father for helping guide us and watch over us. We are so grateful for all the love and support to everyone who helped make our move possible. Especially my grandpa Jay and grandma Luana. Also our awesome realtor Joel Travis for helping find and get us in the perfect starter home for us. We highly recommend him to anyone looking to sell or buy a home. Thank you to all those who helped us move. We are excited to host a house warming party and invite all our friends and family over. Thank you thank you!
